Why it matters
The cost is easy to work out and easy to ignore: calls you miss, times the share that would have booked, times what a customer is worth. Because the result uses your own numbers, it is your real cost, not an industry average.
Small shops feel it most. When you are on a roof, under a car or with a client, the phone is the one thing you cannot answer, and that is exactly when it rings.
